The brand controls the entire production chain, from milking the donkeys to manufacturing the products. Donkey breeding and milk are certified organic by ECOCERT. Since 2013, the brand has been formulating organic skincare products. Their cult treatments? Cold-saponified donkey milk soaps made in our own soap factory! This exceptional content is made possible by their own milk production. So milk is neither freeze-dried nor frozen! These solid soaps are also cold-saponified, a method that guarantees product quality. What are the benefits of organic donkey milk? Donkey milk has a very interesting composition. Cold saponification is a unique artisanal process that preserves the benefits of the ingredients. Oils, plants and butters are processed at low temperatures to retain all their benefits. Cold saponification also reduces our impact on the environment. This technique doesn't require overheating or rinsing with salt water, so no extra water consumption! What is cold saponification? This manufacturing process transforms an oil (a fat) into soap and glycerine. Oils, clays, plant extracts or oils can then be added. This not only perfumes and/or colors the soap, but also cares for the skin. Fresh donkey milk is added at the end of the saponification process to preserve all its virtues. Foals stay with their mothers for several months, and are fed first milk, then solids, as they grow. The donkeys feed on grass from organic meadows, organically grown hay, cereals and herbaceous plants. Finally, milking takes place twice a day at most, and is done by hand. The brand has its own breeding farm to guarantee fresh donkey milk in its soaps. They also have their own soap factory where their soaps are made. They use the cold saponification process to preserve all the qualities and benefits of the ingredients used, and to reduce their environmental impact.
